The ability to display diagnostic trouble codes DTC is an optional feature. Codes may be displayed on either the gauge cluster or an optional vehicle information display VID. The vehicle must be equipped with the option to display codes in both cases. Codes will not be displayed on the gauge cluster if the vehicle is equipped with the VID. A gauge sweep will be performed on the gauges. The gauge cluster will then display the following information for 5 seconds:.

If faults are present, the gauge cluster display will show each diagnostic trouble code for 10 seconds and then automatically scroll to the next entry and continue to cycle through the faults.

Once all faults have been displayed the number of faults will be displayed again, then the cycle will repeat. To manually cycle through the fault list press and release the cluster display selector button. The following information will be displayed for each fault:. Source addresses and DTC descriptions are presented in plain text. NOTE — The following selections will not be available if the vehicle is not equipped with the option to display codes.

Scroll through the list of faults if faults are present. Some previously active codes may not be cleared by this method. A High Battery Cutout fault has. A high Battery Cutout fault has. A Low Battery Cutout fault has. A low Battery Cutout fault has. A Surge may have occurred for a while in occurred and the source of the fault is the AC module inverter high voltage bus. Im getting battery power with my volt meter from that pin 46 I kinda of gave up and started bolting down harnesses where i found the bad allison ignition wire. The check engine light went away, but im still getting disappearing voltage parameters and bad ad blue pump pressure numbers, bad soot index numbers the truck revs up and down on its own. Thanks again heavy D, once i fix this ill buy you lunch for all your help. Wannabe techJan 9, Last edited: Jan 9, That's the ACM, or After treatment control module.

The harness for it is famous for rubbing through, so check it really good.

Volvo TAD734GE User Manual

The loom is actually too big for the number of wires running through it, so they can wiggle around inside and rub through from the inside.

Also, the whole harness is too long, so they zig zag it and zip tie it behind the inner fender which introduces more areas for wiring to rub.

The FMI may also indicate that an abnormal operating condition has been detected. The failure mode of the DTC is determined by evaluating the electronic signal from the suspect circuit.

The failure mode identifiers can be divided into two categories:. Codes that indicate that a problem with an electronic circuit or an electronic component has been detected.

Typically, the first category of code is generated when the signal for the circuit is outside the range of the sensor. The second category of code indicates that the sensor signal is OK, but the signal is outside the normal operating range of the parameter. Refer to the troubleshooting guide for the specific product. The troubleshooting guide procedure will help determine the root cause of a DTC. You must be logged in to post a comment. The SPN identifies the system or component that has a failure; for example SPN indicates a failure in the engine coolant temperature circuit.

See procedure below for checking codes. Write down all blinking codes and contact your servicing dealer. Give them the codes, they will check the diagnostics and test manual and advise on corrective action. Always contact your servicing dealer for help in correcting diagnostic trouble codes which are displayed for your machine. Pressing diagnostic enter switch C enters the diagnostic trouble code menu.

To return to a previous code, press diagnostic return switch E. Rotate the selection dial until desired controller example- CAb or PDU is displayed on Numeric Display three and press the diagnostic enter switch.

NOTE: It may be necessary to rotate selection dial to scroll through trouble codes if multiple codes are displayed.

NOTE: If equipped with optional GreenStar display, do not attempt to access diagnostic address information on both displays at the same time. There are diagnostic values from various inputs, outputs and sensors. There should be no need for operators to perform any interactive calibration procedures, however, the display will look like: CAL in Numeric Display One will alternate with diagnostic address DA.

Press diagnostic enter switch, the far left value will flash which means this value can be changed. Rotate selection dial to change value, press diagnostic calibration switch to move to next value to the right and use selection dial to change value as well. Press diagnostic enter switch to save value. Go to the diagnostic group of the problem system for specific diagnostic information.

Find Trucking Jobs. Oct 21, 1. My trucks losing power. It feels like it stutters when I first get going. The engine light is not on. I've got an active code spn fmi I took it to international but they said there was nothing wrong and there was no active codes at that time. It takes like 20 minutes to get up to 65 miles an hour but once I'm there it runs okay. I checked the air filters cuz it feels like the engine just not getting the right amount of air.

Anybody got any ideas. Martin U. Yes, let employers and TruckersReport text me with new opportunities, job alerts and other career information to the number I provided. Honestly, your best bet is to cut your losses and RUN from that MaxxFarce as fast as you can and get into something else If you like international, get one with a Cummins.

Oct 21, 7. That active code is just from the SART module. It's only job is to keep the time stamp when codes get logged from the engine and does not cause engine problems. You likely have a stuck closed exhaust back pressure valve, or stuck open turbocharger waste gate. HeavydOct 21, Oct 21, 8. Oct 22, 9. Mine has been off and on doing the same thing lack of power for weeks I thought I had it fixed last weekend when the main pressure hose blew coming from the CAC to the intake.

It's pulling better, but still getting 5 mpg max. It could be your EGR. I had the wiring harness get screwed up last summer, this thing would lose speed climbing a hill bobtail The tech said the EGR was throwing so many codes, he couldn't allow it to leave until it could be fixed. Re-pinned his word the wiring harness This truck and that engine is why I am leaving my present company.
